Prayer For the Other Woman

image

Today’s prayer from my heart is a prayer on behalf of the “other woman”. I have experienced brokenness in my marriage and adultery manifested out of that brokenness.  Although a part of me wanted to lash out at the other woman, God had me do something else. He had me turn my cheek and ignore my angry fleshy instincts. He had me pray for her and minister to her about Jesus. He gave me a heart to look after her soul because what she thought she could get from my husband was really what she needed from Jesus. Yes, I prayed for her; and I also spoke the truth in love and strength that as his wife, I’m forever here to stay– while her choice was to move on with her life and never look back at my husband. She graciously apologized, accepted and agreed to move on. So what the enemy meant for evil, God turned it into good and for a blessing for all concerned.
Amen, let’s pray.
Father, we pray for the hearts of the broken, twisted women who believe that love is born out of desperation and deceit. We pray for the other women. We know love because You sent your Son to die so that we can have life eternally wrapped in Your love and Your purpose. Thank You that Your love is in itself a covenant in JESUS. We pray for the women who choose to be the other woman because they are in bondage, being used by the enemy, as doorways to death. They are wrapped in death, carrying out the enemy’s purpose to break up Your covenant marriages.
Father, instead of beaming our spotlights into their dark, adulterous deeds with hearts filled with hate, animosity, and vindictiveness, We beam spotlights of grace towards these women. They are enemies of our marriages but more than wanting to hurt them in retaliation, help us to do Your will and bless our enemies.** Yes, love them, even. Because they are just crusts–full of emptiness and desperate, distorted longings that they think will be fulfilled in the arms of another woman’s husband. They are so lost they cannot even see their own way out of their broken house of mirrors hearts. Even though they are mindful of the hurt and stolen affections and time….We pray for the grace needed to see them with eyes of grace. Lord, give us hearts strengthened with the resolve to stand firm in the face of the other woman’s opposition and in our belief that the spell they have cast over married men to confuse their hearts is broken in JESUS’ name!!! We rebuke the demonic, quicksand, sexual lure of these women in the name of JESUS!!!!! We pray for them because they are in need of being delivered from the devil’s grasp. We pray for the salvation of the other woman because somewhere in her life, the enemy convinced her that being a man’s “other” woman is better and more satisfying than being his only woman–his wife.
We pray Lord, as a community of wives that You will fill their hearts with love and healthy remorse so they will turn married men away and run to You! Give them a desire to stop being open doorways to Sheol*** and instead be gated communities of single women who are redeemed of adultery and saved by Your grace!!!
Lord, Let them no longer rejoice over “stolen waters”* over stolen moments, stolen sex with married men. Give them the desire to seek You instead of running into the arms of married men to soothe their emptiness, wounded hearts and warped self-esteem. We pray that You will turn for good what the enemy has meant for the destruction of Your covenant marriages. Give wives the wisdom and strength needed in their marriages to stand for their restorations, but let them not forget to pray for the lost soul of the other woman in need of Your saving grace. Break the chains in JESUS name!!! Free the other women and the snared husbands from the spirits of lust, fornication, and adultery in JESUS’ name!!!! Hedge them up Father so they lose the way, lose the lust for, lose the desire to look at call, text, message anyone’s husband in JESUS’ name just as you say in Your Word in Hosea 2:6-7
” But I’ll block her way with a thorn hedge;
I’ll put a wall up around her, blocking her usual paths,
7 and she will wander after her lovers like a dumb sheep.
She’ll chase after them, but she won’t catch them.
She’ll look for them, but she won’t find them.”
Glory Hallelujah!!!!!! AMEN!!!!
*Proverbs 9:17~
” “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!” ”
**Matthew 5:44-45~
” But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
***Proverbs 7:27~
” Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.”

    Hi Cassandra, this is a wonderful thing to do. As a woman who’s husband cheated and have been battling to have him go back to God, my relationship with God has changed tremendously. I just want to do His will and I even prayed for the other woman. Now they’ll be working together. I’m conflicted because I want her out p of our lives and her coming in like this I don’t know if it’s God’s will or the devil trying tirelessly to break my marriage? I’m going to pray about it and I trust God for His will to be done. He works in mysterious ways. I forgave her and I thought of leasing her but according to God’s will. If it is then let it be done. He’s not a fool although I’ll be looked at as fool myself. Thank you for a great article

    I love this post, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I believe that marriage and love are both fight for through prayer. It is a covenant that is ordain by God, so many people don’g get that. I am not married but in March, I wrote a piece title Addicted. He HS said I am going to show you what it is to be married and how to help minister to those who are married. I believe in the Power of prayer. thank you for this piece.

      Hi Renee. I’m not discrediting the love you have for your fiancé but maybe you should consider the signs that the man you love is not worthy of being in a marriage with you. If he is already unfaithful, he will not stop once you get married. God did not design marriage for one person to pursue someone who doesn’t want to be with them and then goes after another woman who is already married. You are not married and he is not wanting a commitment with you. The best thing you can do is yes forgive him, but thank God because this may be a blessing in disguise that protects you from future years of pain and suffering.

        But why after 10 years. He loved me more than i did. Is it so wrong to pray and asked god to give us one chance just because we are not married.
        The truth is, in this 10 years i never reliase how much i love him always took our relationship very lightly, untill he i found out about his affair.
        I can i ever forget or let go the person whom i loved so much spend 10years with
        I just wish and pray god will give us one chance.
        And yes what you said is also true,that he was unfaithful to me and he can do again, but i have faith in god that if he give us one chance heceill never fell out of love again

        God does not want us to be unequally yoked. He will not force you to see the truth or accept it. Nothing is impossible for God, but God gives us free will. It’s not about him never falling out of love because that is an illusion. Marriage is about commitment and honoring that covenant even when that “in love” feeling is missing. If you have been with a person for 10 years and they haven’t married you and it doesn’t work, why keep plugging for another 10 years?? This prayer I wrote was to encourage married couples. Not to encourage anyone to hold on to a relationship where it’s unhealthy and is not a marriage. I pray God opens your eyes to see you’re worthy of love yes and complete in Christ. Never cast your pearls before swine. God has someone out there who will love you! God bless!

        He always wanted to marry but we decided untill and unless he gets job we will wait.
        And i should just let him go even if i love him so much and stop praying for him?
        Dont you think it be be lie to god that i love one person and want to pray for our relationship but just unwilling giving up just because we were not married.
        Why is that only married couple should pray for restoration of thier relationship if one has been cheated. Sorry i know i sound so stupid but i always wonder why god dont see how much i am hurt and if it was god will that he is not meant to be mine then why make me love and spend 10years with him.

        God did not make you love and spend 10 years with him. This prayer was written with married couples in mind as this is a marriage ministry. This prayer is not to encourage anyone to hold on to a relationship that is not covenant with God. It is and always has been your decision to remain in such a relationship. It is between you and God what you pray and your choice if you decide to spend 10 or 20 more years pursuing this man who you say is pursuing a married woman. God’s best to you and may you follow Him as He shows you the way to go.

      Chrissy I am so sorry to learn of this. The enemy is out to kill, steal, and destroy. You must be strong now and let God make a way for you. You have to surrender your husband to God because he is under the spell of his flesh and lust. When it wears off and God speaks to his heart, he will have to acknowledge the damage his selfishness has caused. The other woman has simply enticed him and jumped along for the ride as he runs away from what is no longer pleasing to his ego. Keep praying for him but also learn your rights concerning the home and any spousal and child support due to you and your children. He cannot throw you and your children anywhere as far as American laws go. Know your rights and any threats or physical attacks need to be reported to the police. Pray that he and his mistress wake up to their sins and repent. Keep looking to God for guidance, strength and all of your needs. He will not leave or forsake you. Joshua 1:9. Praying for you!!!
