The Prudent Wife (*w/Prayer♡)

Proverbs 19:14 says: “House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the LORD.”
Are you a wife who exercises prudence?  A wife who demonstrates prudence is characterized by:
◆ Demonstrating good judgment
◆ Her ability to use foresight–to look ahead before making decisions
◆ Having wisdom
◆ Exercising caution when faced with sudden decisions
◆ Shrewdness–a sharpness or ability to understand matters in a     practical way
A prudent wife will not be hasty.  A prudent wife does not make impulsive decisions because she weighs the benefits and the consequences of her actions and considers their impact in the long-run to her marriage and family. A prudent wife does not selfishly seek to satisfy her personal satisfaction by sacrificing the greater good of her household for self-gratification. She will wisely consider her household’s budget and will not make impulsive credit card purchases when she knows there are bills that need to be paid.
The man who has a prudent wife is blessed and should praise God because she is a blessing who comes from the LORD! Material blessings such as a house, land, property, and financial wealth can be inherited from their fathers. Only the Lord can bless a man to have a prudent wife. He who has a prudent wife is prosperous and wealthy, indeed, because she adds to their life together rather than taking away from it.
Proverbs 21: 5~ “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.”
A prudent wife will not be hasty and lead her household to poverty. Her ability to make astute decisions will surely lead to plenty of respect, trust, and love from her husband as she helps him to build up their household.
Proverbs 14:1~ “Every wise woman builds up her household, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.”  Before making decisions, a prudent wife considers if she is building up or tearing down her household and marriage with her own hands.
I know there are some marriages where the husband primarily manages the finances and budget concerns. A wife can exercise prudence in other ways. Prudence does not only pertain to financial decision-making but extends even in how she loves her husband. A prudent wife will not jump to hasty conclusions and speak or act rashly without thought. Her prudence can lead to plenty as she exercises it in conflict resolution with her spouse, how she manages the children in the home, and how she runs her household and daily responsibilities. A wife who prays before she speaks and acknowledges God when making even small, seemingly inconsequential decisions, is a prudent wife and a blessing to her husband!
Lord God, Help us wives be that prudent blessing in our husbands’ lives so we can help our husbands build up our marriages. Teach us to be wise and seek You first before we make choices that impact our husbands and children in a negative way. If there is no way of avoiding potentially negative outcomes, please guide us to make the decisions that are in agreement with Your will. For every husband that You have blessed to have a prudent wife, let them know that she is a gift from You. Thank You Lord that I can do all things through Christ. Teach us to be humble, shrewd, and wise help meets to our husbands,  in Jesus’ name, Amen!
