Retail stores mark their calendars by seasons. Valentine’s Day signals a “day of love” and a day that sparks off marriage proposals and wedding plans. What about us? What will we mark our seasons by or rather by Whom? In ancient times, people used sundials to mark the time. The sundial indicates the hour relative to the position of the sun. The shadow casts onto hour thereby marking the time. What an innovative invention! This brings to ponder where is the Son of God Jesus Christ positioned in our lives? Are we marking each day; each season of our lives by the One Who
came and laid His life down out of LOVE for the Father and us? He is now yet POSITIONED at the right hand of our Almighty Father God!!! 🙂 All shadows in our lives fall in relation to the positional authority we view them by the Son of God. This day, Valentine’s Day, may be a season of weeping and despair. You may be feeling you are weeping at a wall as Hezekiah did. Read in Isaiah:
Isaiah 38
New International Version (NIV)
38:2-7~
“2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord,3 “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.
7 “‘This is the Lord’s sign to you that the Lord will do what he has promised: 8 I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.”
The Lord hears your cries and at His appointed time, He will send you a word a miracle that will turn back this season of shadows and suffering. He is the author of time and He will make it so that this season of shadows will be as a dream. He will answer your cries with mercy and recover the time you have lost with your spouse. Do not let your day, week, month, season be thrown off by shadows. There is still the Son and He has overcome the world for us and He loves you. Yes, Jesus loves you Cassandra
