Wounds Exposing the Inner Heart

Maybe the beatings of our marriage trials are permitted by God to cleanse evil away from us. Perhaps the suffering of these afflictions –the betrayal, rejection, sorrow, and brokenheartedness– we willingly endure are permitted so that wounds open us up and expose what needs healing inside of our own hearts. Yes the transgressions that hurt us can pierce us and rip our hearts wide open so that we can be healed where we did not know we needed healing. We are not above the sufferings of Christ Jesus. By Jesus’ stripes we’re healed, and maybe the stripes we endure are so we will reach out to Jesus and find peace in the One Who was chastised for our sins. In the One Whose chastisement secured our peace in Him. His healing reaches the inner depths of our hearts (Matthew 15:19) –into the deepest soil of our hearts where seeds of our own sin germinate. There in that deep wounded heart we can find peace in Jesus and not be overcome by the sin that has been transgressed against God against us by our prodigals. We can have compassion and persevere in praying for the salvation of the heart of our prodigal spouses that they too will turn to Jesus and be healed. When the depths of our hearts are exposed by pain, what sits upon the throne of our heart is revealed. We have an opportunity to allow Jesus to cleanse our heart and give us a new understanding of His love. Remove the crown from your pain. Forgive your prodigal because they know not what they truly do because they do not know the love of JESUS. While our prodigal’s transgressions–their pride, their anger, their adultery, their brokenness– may have separated is from their love, we can have the assurance and peace that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God. Having that knowledge of the unimaginable pain Jesus endured when he was flogged, spat upon, beaten, crowned with a piercing crown of thorns; when He carried His own cross before being nailed upon it– we then can understand that His love for us is bigger than pain because the purpose of His love cannot be stopped! His love cannot be blocked from us by anything or anyone! (Romans 8:31-39)

This is the love that our prodigals do not have cannot demonstrate to us because they do not have the revelation and understanding yet of Jesus’ love. Pray for peace for the Prince of Peace Who is Jesus to give them a revelation of His love and a burden to repent so they have a desire to pick their crosses back up and finish the race with you in your marriage. May the stripes in our marriages be healed by the One Whose stripes bled perfect love of God. Amen

Amen 🙏🏽

He was [b]bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes[c] we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5[c] Blows that cut in
Matthew 15:19~
“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”

Romans 8:31-39, NLT~ “

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
