Measured By Our Love

Measured By Our Love

This word from the Lord builds upon an already released word that was not a part of this study prior to this. I pray it brings God glory.

The following may be familiar, but we will build on this word inspired by God’s Word in 2 Kings chapter 6.

2 Kings 6 (GOD’S WORD version) :

“The disciples of the prophets said to Elisha, “The place where we’re staying is too small for us. 2 Let’s go to the Jordan River. Each of us can get some logs and make a place for us to live there.” Elisha said, “Go ahead.” 3 Then one of the disciples asked, “Won’t you please come with us?” Elisha answered, “I’ll go.” 4 So he went with them. They came to the Jordan River and began to cut down trees. 5 As one of them was cutting down a tree, the ax head fell into the water. He cried out, “Oh no, master! It was borrowed!” 6 The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed Elisha the place, Elisha cut off a piece of wood. He threw it into the water at that place and made the ax head float. 7 Elisha said, “Pick it up.” The disciple reached for it and picked it up. “

Somebody out there reading this right now is crying out in their heart and soul 🗣Oh God this place I’m in in my marriage, I CAN’T STAY HERE I CAN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE!” You’re looking around at the hurt and suffering you’ve endured and the walls of the valley seem to be closing in on you as the difficulties seem to be growing larger and crowding you out. I know you’re looking and searching for more room to get away from the pain closing in. I will walk with you in your journey to the River Jordan. You’re ready to cross over from this place of suffering to your promised land where your marriage is restored. I’ll walk with you. You have work to do to get ready to cross over to reach your promised land. Some of you have already been working. You’ve believed God for more and have been laboring, chopping away —praying, fasting, declaring God’s Word. You’ve been working hard 😓 striving and looking at your efforts and performance and you have managed to lose your EDGE YOUR CUTTING EDGE YOUR FAITH!!!! Your ax head FAITH HAS SLIPPED OFF! You are not certain how you lost your faith with all the sweat and tears you have been putting into relocating your marriage closer to the promised land! (LOOK AT JESUS.)

Tell Him that you’ve lost your faith. He knows it’s borrowed because it is not of our own striving that we have faith but by God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). I am here with you by the grace of God in your blessed marriage journey through this ministry, and I am asking you,

“Where did you lose your faith? Where did it fall?”

I want you to go to the Lord in prayer after reading this post and tell Him where you began to doubt and where you lost your cutting edge FAITH. The Lord is going to give me a piece of wood —a word to follow this that is going to confirm to you something He wants you to see. The Lord Jesus is going to cause YOUR FAITH THAT YOU LOST to float 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Pick it up and this time, do this thing this work for your marriage the way the LORD tells you to do it… faith ♥️

Let’s pick up where you picked up your faith my sister my brother in Christ. You realize that you had been wearing yourself out and whittling your strength away as you battled and swung in your flesh until you lost your ax-head of faith. Now that you have recovered your faith in the stand for your marriage with God’s help, you are now ready to rebuild.

You may be looking around and asking

yourself, “Rebuild what? And how when I am the only one standing here in

this vast wilderness?” Look around and now look to the hills from where

your Help comes because the rebuilding begins with you.

“ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” (Psalm 121:1 KJV)

Rebuilding begins with you.

God has commissioned you to rebuild by your allowing Him to rebuild you. When God commissions mankind to build, He knows the exact dimensions for what He has commanded to be built. He never makes an error or miscalculation.

Haven’t you spent enough time measuring out

the dimensions of your suffering?

Haven’t you thoroughly and carefully

measured out the pain you’ve endured and the resources you have at your

It’s time now to listen for God’s command.

“Lord, what are the dimensions that will bring You glory? What do I need to do?”

Rebuilding your marriage—making it brand new and better than before requires you to draw near to the Lord.

“During the 25th year of our exile (which was

the 14th year after Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem), at the

beginning of the year on the 10th day of the month, the Eternal took

hold of me and brought me to the ruined city. 2 In the visions God

showed me, He carried me into the land of Israel and put me on top of a

very high mountain. Southward, there was a building that looked like a

city unto itself. 3 God led me to that place, and there I saw a man

whose appearance gleamed as if he were made of bronze. He stood at the

structure’s gate with a linen tape for long measurements and a reed for

short measurements.

The Man (to Ezekiel): 4 Son of man, sharpen

your senses! See with your eyes, and listen with your ears! Take notice

of everything I am about to show you, because you are here to see what I

do and to relay it all to the people of Israel.” (Ezekiel 40:1-4, AMP.)

God knows the exact dimensions of your

marriage, your heart and your spouse’s heart. He knows the exact

dimensions that are needed to rebuild and He has a new design in mind and at work for your marriage.

Begin to dream again and envision the grandeur of your marriage once it is restored. Know that God knows what it takes to rebuild so that your marriage is built with Jesus at its center.

In Ezekiel’s vision, God shows Him the new city of Jerusalem and its new temple. Something that fascinates me is that God reveals His Holy order as He shares detailed measurements of the temple’s layout. Within the inner court of the temple, the first area shown during the tour is the sacrifice chamber where the burnt offerings were washed and slaughtered.

In particular, what stood out the most was the description in Ezekiel 40:43: “Inside were hooks, a handbreadth wide, fastened all around; and the flesh of the sacrifices was on the tables.”

This brings to mind our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus’ sacrifice. He was hung on the cross and He died hanging there for our sins.

His death on the cross eliminated the need for the continual burnt temple

offerings for God’s forgiveness. I’m discerning and imagining with my

spiritual eyes that the handbreadth distance between the hooks may have been the exact breadth and size of Jesus’ hand–only His hands were pierced by nails instead of hooks.

Next, Ezekiel is shown the chamber for the singers and priests: “ From the outside to the inner gate were chambers

for the singers in the inner courtyard, one of which was beside the

north gate, with its front toward the south, and one beside the

south gate facing toward the north. 45 He [who was guiding me] said

to me, “This is the chamber which faces toward the south; it is for the

priests who have the responsibility and take care of the temple; 46 but

the chamber which faces toward the north is for the priests who have the

responsibility and take care of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok,

who [alone] from the sons of Levi come near to the Lord to minister to

Him.” 47 He measured the courtyard, a hundred cubits long and a hundred

cubits wide, a perfect square; and the altar was in front of the

temple.” (Ezekiel 40:44-47, AMP).

The Hebrew Word for altar is mizbeach and

means “a place of slaughter”. When we shared our vows with our spouses

before Almighty God, many of us did so at the altar. It is fitting to

consider how we must sacrifice our flesh–specifically, how husbands must love their wives as Christ loved the church and died for her. Our marriages are altars before God wherein we hang up our fleshy ways on those “sacrifice hooks”!

Before Ezekiel was shown “the Most Holy Place” the Sanctuary, he had to

pass by the areas for the singers and priests, which strikes me as a

reminder that when we are in the fiery furnace of trials, we

need to praise God and worship Him nonetheless because He is Holy and an

abiding God. “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3). You are the priest who is called to take care of your marriage temple and to go before God interceding for your spouse. You are called and chosen.

Here are some Scriptural dimensions provided by God to help us align our heart dimensions with His perfect will:

Romans 12:1-2~“I appeal to you therefore,

brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living

sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of

your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what

is good and acceptable and perfect.”

1 Peter 2:4-6~ “As you come to him, a living

stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you

yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house,

to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God

through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture:

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,

a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Psalm 51:16-18~ “For you will not delight in

sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt

offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and

contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

Hebrews 13:15~ “Through him then let us

continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of

lips that acknowledge his name.”

Ephesians 5:2~ “And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

Hebrews 10:11-14~ “And every priest stands

daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can

never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single

sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from

that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For

by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being

Psalm 4:5 ~ “From this day forward, offer to God the right sacrifice from a heart made right by God.

Entrust yourself to the Eternal.”

“But Samuel replied: ‘Does the Lord delight in

burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey

is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams” (1

Samuel 15:22).

God wants to put your temple in order. He wants you to get rid of idols– anything/whatever you seek and love more than Him. Greatest Commandment–dimension ever commissioned of us is that God wants us to put Him first–loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. Secondly, God wants us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-40) Verse 40 says “all the Law and the Prophets hang” on those two commandments. All of the saving, redemptive love that destroyed the curse of the law, which is death and simultaneously defeated the devil and all his powers of darkness, was Jesus!!!! Halleulujah!!!!!! Glory to God!!!!!!!!

Again, “Walk in love…” not harboring bitterness and anger because of the suffering you have endured. Those dimensions will not work with the blueprint God has for your restored marriage.

You picked up your faith. Don’t forget about love.

“But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God. But now faith, hope, and love remain; these three virtues must characterize our lives. The greatest of these is love.” (1Cor. 13:12-13).

May God restore your marriage to become a marvel that brings Him glory as His temple–husband and wife as one-flesh living stones built upon the Chief Cornerstone Jesus Christ. I pray this study blesses you and refreshes you in your stand.
