Intimacy Prayer (revised)


My prayer for today is for a deeper, lasting intimacy between husbands and wives💝
Dear Lord, bless every husband and wife with larger spaces inside our hearts to accommodate love. I ask that barriers to intimacy be removed. Remove the doors in our hearts that we close to shut each other out. Give us a supernatural understanding of our spouse and a longing to commune and connect so we each feel deeply understood. Father, where there is a lack of sincere interest in each other, rekindle that spark that we are known mysteries ever unfolding with our spouses. Help us have excitement in discovering new things to love about our spouses.
Thank You, Lord, that our intimate time can be a reflection of our closeness with You. Thank You Lord that Your Holy Spirit guides us into truth.
Help us be honest, open, understanding, interested, curious, and unabashedly willing to seek out our spouse’s pleasure whether it be by a hug, holding hands, with gifts, with lovemaking, sharing in a hobby of our spouse’s, reading a devotion together, or sharing in prayer together. Lord, we need an undying desire to seek to draw closer to our beloved. We need ideas so we can create times of closeness and intimate traditions that we plan regularly so our relationship does not become stale.
May we be blessed with the ability to ENJOY our spouses in the small moments in life.
Thank You for the gift of marriage, Father God.
May our moments of intimacy become a way of life and a testimony of our one-flesh relationship with Jesus- -all to Your glory.
