Faithfulness As a Covering

image

Psalm 91:4 VOICE~
“Like a bird protecting its young, God will cover you with His feathers,
    will protect you under Hisgreat wings;
    His faithfulness will form a shield around you, a rock-solid wall to protect you.”
As the heads, husbands have a great responsibility to cover and protect their wives. A wife is not given in marriage as a blessing to be taken for granted. Husbands are to look after their wives and children as earthly shepherds and emulate Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd. It’s a husband’s duty to protect her and guard her spiritually, as well as, physically.
I think it’s interesting and amazing how God covers and protects us with His faithfulness. Hallelujah! I’m thankful we serve God who does not lie and stands by His Word.
Numbers 23:19- ” God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
This might just mean something for you married men!
~~Perhaps, by your faithfulness to your wife, you are able to keep her safe from the darts of the enemy, the devil! Perhaps, your faithfulness is a covering that protects her.
When a man cheats, usually his wife is devastated and experiences intense sadness and mental turmoil. Her mind is very vulnerable to attacks from the enemy on her self-esteem and her thoughts can easily become flooded with negative thoughts that can lead to depression and anxiety. A husband’s sin of adultery removes his protective covering from his wife; and this is a key strategy in how the devil is able to attack the “weaker vessels” of family units– the women (1Peter 3:7).
This is just a thought, and I pray you will pray about and consider it. If you have committed adultery against your wife, confess it to God and your wife, repent, and pray that God will help you rebuild your covering around her.
Amen and God bless!
