Poem for Maya Angelou (4/4/1928-5/28/2014)

~for Dr. Maya Angelou♥
Away from the clamoring presses
& The carefully typed obituaries–
Between you and me,
There is more beyond the loss.
R.I.P.
Maybe it’s the way you’ve left behind
Such a remarkable legacy.
Your words are gazelles that have leapt
Into hearts.
Because of you,
We know why the caged bird sings.
You have inspired so many.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful spirit.
Such poise. Such grace.
Thanks for living so freely.
So Phenomenally.
