Mother to Be Praised

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there who mother or have mothered children–whether you birthed them or not!!!♥ A mother who fears the Lord is worthy of being praised! May your husband and children rise up and honor you with their blessing and thanks for all that you do. The best thing that mothers can do is have compassion for their children and empathetic concern for other mothers’ situations.
Today at church I was almost going to leave service early and even went downstairs to fetch my twins from Sunday school because my toddling son was having the never ending tantrum. He was kicking on the floor, screaming, telling me “No!”, and with my huge pregnant belly, I was not able to pick him up. Several other mothers in the room came over and assisted me. A brother even persuaded him to walk with him and talk, but it was a short lived victory because he began shrieking again. Finally, one of the mothers gathered him up to her bosom with his screaming and wriggling and she just held him. They urged me to return to the sanctuary upstairs, and I was so relieved and thankful that I did!
Sometimes it takes other mothers to reach our children. One of the best things a mother can do is offer to help another mother who is struggling, and it’s a blessing for those mothers in need of assistance to receive it! As mothers, we want to think we can do it all, but we don’t have to. We need to know that it’s okay to give and receive help when the opportunity arises. Enjoy a beautiful,  blessed Mother’s Day!!!
With Titus 2 Love,
Proverbs 31:23-31
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.”
