Everyday, the most loving thing a wife can do for her husband is to pray for him. Pray for:
1. His walk with God.
If he puts God first and loves him with all His heart, soul, and mind, He will love his wife as God commands in Ephesians 5 and be the spiritual leader of his family that God calls him to be.
2. His thoughts to be captive in obedience to Christ. Philippians 4:8.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
If he is keeping his thoughts pure, then it will reflect in his conduct. Proverbs 23:7~ ” For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”
Actions are a product of making a decision based on thoughts. Pray that your husband’s thoughts are godly.
3. Solid friendships with godly men.
Pray that your husband maintains friendships with godly men who can pray for his walk with God and keep him accountable. There is an old saying that “A person is as good as the friends they keep.” The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33~ ” Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” Pray for those solid friendships with godly men so your husband can have males in his life who support and celebrate his walk with God and your marriage.
4. Wisdom to abstain from ALL sexual immorality.
Pray your husband has the wisdom to abstain from pornography, adultery, masturbation, looking at other women in order that he can appreciate her sexually or as anything other than a sister in Christ. Pray that he will have the wisdom to change the channel, avert his eyes, turn and walk in the opposite direction, even; keep his sexual feelings and desires reserved only for you in a way that honors God.
5. His protection from evil influences.
Pray that God will hedge your husband up and order his steps–keep him protected from anything and anyone ungodly that will disrupt his walk with God as well as his personal safety. *Keep in mind that bad things do happen; but God does turn evil for good in the lives of all who love Him. (Romans 8:28)*
